"Yosop Yulsong", by Laura Mam, is a Cambodian song. Yosup Yulsong, translate in Khmer to Dreams, and is a new single from her Search of Heros Albulm. The albulm is about her search for Cambodian heroes, and the hero within herself. It's a blend of her rich Cambodian roots and what she wants to evolve into.
This albulm was co-written by her mother and with the help her brother. The mindset is provide a positive energy and sense of orginality to the Cambodian community that has been lost since the dispora.
"Sday Snea Aphorp" is a song orginally produced by Sinn Sisamouth (ស៊ីន ស៊ីសាមុត). Sinn Sisamouth was a famous and highly prolific Cambodian singer-songwriter in the 1950s-70s. He is considered the "King of Khmer music," and was part of a thriving pop music scene in Phnom Penh that blended elements of Khmer traditional music with the sounds of rhythm and blues and rock and roll to make a Westernized sound akin to psychedelic or garage rock.
This cover of "Sday Snea Aphorp" incorporates the meaning full lyrics of Sin Sisamouth. The artst rivies the soul of the song with a modern beat, making the song more compelling for the younger generation.
