I was fortunate with the opportunity to grow up in the States, but I never forgot my roots. I was born in the heart of Cambodia, Phnom Penh. Althought I cannot recall any memories of the short period of time I lived there, I was always intrigued by my rich culture. Thus, I made it my responsiblity to learn the history, culture, and language. Now, after almost 18 years, I am returning back to my homeland. And on this night before my travels, I am proud of the bridge formed between my Khmer and American culture- I am Khmerican.
